Our family has been selectively breeding AKC registered Golden Retrievers from our home-based kennel for 9 years and has more than 12 years total breeding experience. All our dogs and pups are housed in spacious warm and clean facilities and receive lots of exercise daily. Most importantly they receive daily love care and attention from our family kids neighbors and kennel workers. The 10 adult dogs we maintain are part of our family too
Producing healthy pups that will mature into healthy adult dogs is our top priority and we can boast incredible success. In fact we have NEVER produced a dog that has matured to develop any serious health problems disease or bad hips. This is due to our carefulness in selecting breeding stock and our willingness not to breed if there are any health concerns in a dogs background. Additionally our dogs are OFA certified age permitting for hips elbows heart and eyes. When it comes to health we believe that a breeder can have all the health clearances and certifications possible but the proof is in the pudding. We back up all our pups with a 2 year health guarantee in writing
Our breeding objective is to produce superior Golden Retriever puppies with calm and gentle temperaments intelligence trainability conformation and outstanding beauty. We do not inbreed and all pedigrees are studied and checked before ever considering a mating between a dam and sire.
Why is using a GOOD breeder important?? You are adding a valued family member that will if a healthy pup be around your family for the next 12 years. Of course you are choosing a Golden for their outstanding gentleness and temperaments their true patience when dealing with children and young family members their extreme intelligence and their striking beauty. The last thing you would want is a pup who grows up to be ill-tempered severely ill or who dies prematurely. There are so many more important things to consider rather than price…..the health history of the breeding line about Dad about Mom health guarantees how experienced is the breeder health clearances on the parents etc. Avoid breeders who are unknowledgeable and use ill-thought out or no-thought breeding practices and decisions. Every week I meet owners and their Goldens who own “purebred” Goldens who in no way look nor behave according to the breed standard for Goldens. Many of these dogs are high-strung and hyper-active or even aggressive and many look more like an Irish Setter than a Golden Retriever. Yet they are “purebred” dogs. We are a home based kennel with only two Golden Retrievers. They are treated like our children. The puppies are born and raised in the house so we start potty training them right away. We also like to start the crate training process. Now this doesnt mean they will come to you potty and crate trained You will still need to do a lot of work but it does mean they will have somewhat of an idea of what you are asking them to do. We only adopt our puppies out to homes who intend to spend a lot of time and energy with them. They are a high energy dog so they needs lots of attention and playtime.
