| | | Recently my Great Dane got into a fight with another intact male pitbull. It was my fault he jumped the fence into the pits yard. This is the first time this has ever happened but he drew blood and the pit needed stitches. I have gotten a muzzle for him and I only take him out on leash now. I feel that getting him nuetered may help but I still want to breed him as he is beautiful many championship lines good hips and really a sweet dog except that he doesnt get along with intact males - which is normal for any stud dog. What is the right thing to do? He is a $3000 dog and it would be a waste not to get one litter out of him. Has anyone had a similar situation?

| | | neutering him at this age may help very little. it helps more when done before sexual maturity. on the other hand, breeding him can make him more dog aggressive. breeding is also a responsibility-in many ways. i would suggest get into training classes, secure your yardmaybe higher fencing or privacy fence, and be careful, as there are so many laws popping up every day that are anti dog.
