About the Mastiff
The Mastiff, also known as the English Mastiff or Old English Mastiff, is an ancient breed with a rich history. These colossal dogs are heavy-boned, courageous, and prodigiously strong. Standing at least 30 inches at the shoulder, they can outweigh many full-grown humans. Their rectangular bodies are covered in a short double coat of fawn, apricot, or brindle stripes, and their broad, wrinkled heads give them an alert and kindly expression. Mastiffs are loyal companions and guardians, protective of their families, and early training and socialization are essential due to their natural wariness of strangers. Learn more
